Got my game on...

Every year, at Keystone Schools, our 8th graders plan a trip the summer they leave our school for high school.  Every year, to raise money for this trip, they have a basketball game pitting the students against the teachers and parents called Grads vs. Trainers.  Every once in a while, this old teacher gets herself into good enough shape to go join them and enjoy it every time.  Yep, I even arrived at the gym early so I could GET MY GAME ON! :)

Well, in years past, the Trainers have had some fairly decent teams or, is it, the students may not have been as fully trained as they needed to be?
Either way, the Trainers have come out on the winning side of the basketball game with the students being kind of amazed that they got beat.  Yeah, us old ladies, we don't do so bad sometimes.  Well, this year, we had a couple of Trainers that were pretty salty, yeah, they, including me, had a little game, however, more of the Trainers were not so salty or, maybe the students were a little more trained than they had been in the past.  Either way, it was going to a game that was going to take some ingenius thinking for the Trainers to pull off a win.  Maybe a little magic.  Or, a little tom foolery.  Possibly, a little slight of hand.  Maybe a secret weapon....

OH!  TAZ!  You have come to save us!  Nah, not even the Tazmanenian Devil could help the Trainers.  Even the double points we got for every shot didn't help.  The fact that they stopped the clock at the end of the game to give us a shot to 'tie' the game didn't help.  Nope, there was not help for the Trainers this year.  We took it on the chin.  Game on or off, it didn't matter, the Grads were better than we were and I was glad to get to play against them.  I wish them the best of luck from here on out and hope that some of them are able to get their GAME ON good enough to start in high school and possibly get the chance to play in college.
